3rd suspect arrested in fatal shooting of Kendrick High School senior
A third suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting of Kendrick High School senior Javion Shorter.
According to an official report released Monday afternoon, Javon Quindarious McClendon, 17, of Columbus has been arrested in Columbus and charged with the crime.
He will appear in Columbus Recorder’s Court at 9 a.m. Thursday.
Previously arrested and charged with murder are Nashira Kendra Miller, 19, of Columbus, and Daijon Dawayne Williams, 19, of Columbus.
Columbus police patrol units were dispatched to the Ballard Way Apartments on 5600 Hunter Road in reference to a person being shot around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 17.
Upon their arrival officers found Shorter suffering from gunshot wounds in the stairwell of a building. He was transported to Midtown Medical Center where he died two days later.
Williams was already in custody for a possession of Ecstasy charge when he was arrested on the murder charge.
