One of two Columbus men charged in a Shannon Drive theft may be involved in gang activity, police said.

Terrance Bell, 21, and Jasper Dunlap, 24, were taken onto custody Monday on Belfast Avenue to face multiple charges. Dunlap is charged with one count each of entering an auto, theft by receiving stolen property and participating in criminal gang activity. Bell is charged with entering an auto and theft by receiving stolen property. Both are held in the Muscogee County Jail for a 9 a.m. Wednesday hearing in Recorder’s Court.

Police said the charges stem from a theft report in the 1900 block of Shannon Drive sometime between 2 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Monday. Police were called to a home on the street to check on a theft from a vehicle. At the time of their arrest, police said the suspects were in possession of property stolen from a car at the location.

No gang affiliation was listed for Dunlap although he is facing a charge for the alleged activity.
