Two men charged after more than $450 in marijuana found near Double Churches Road

Two men were arrested after Friday afternoon after authorities found more than $450 worth of marijuana near Double Churches Road and Daisy Street, according to Columbus police.
Jessie Garron Jr., 27, and Andre Simms, 50, were taken into custody on the scene. They were booked into the Muscogee County Jail.
Authorities said they were near the intersection of Double Churches Road and Daisy Street around 3:50 p.m. Friday when they came in contact with the narcotics. They found three clear plastic baggies containing 46.5 grams of marijuana (street value of $465), two digital scales, additional clear plastic baggies, one backpack, one clear jar and one .380 caliber gun.
