Man shot at Columbus apartment

A man was injured late Wednesday in an apartment shooting on 20th Avenue, according to Columbus police.

He was rushed to Columbus Midtown Medical Center, where he was treated before being released.

Authorities were called to the hospital around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to speak with a gunshot wound victim. The initial police report states that the shooting occurred an hour earlier at an apartment in the 200 block of 20th Avenue.

Sgt. Art Sheldon said the victim reported that he was walking down the street when someone asked him what he was doing and shots rang out, striking him. He told police he didn't see the shooter and signed a waiver of prosecution dismissing the case.
