Woman charged with prostitution in south Columbus
A 57-year-old woman allegedly agreed to have sex with an undercover police officer in exchange for $20, according to Columbus police.
Cynthia Griswould faces one count each of prostitution and possession of drug-related objects. She was placed into the Muscogee County Jail for a 2 p.m. hearing Tuesday in Columbus Recorder's Court.
Members of the Columbus Police Department's Special Operations Unit said they were near North Lumpkin Road around 10 p.m. Monday when they came in contact with Griswould. Prostitutes are known to frequent that area, authorities said.
Officials said Griswould agreed to have sex with an undercover officer for $20. She allegedly had a glass smoking device.
