Man found with more than $1,000 worth of meth, Columbus police say

A man was allegedly found with more than $1,000 worth of meth Wednesday night during a traffic stop near Warm Springs Road, authorities said.

John Antley, 26, faces one count each of possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of heroin, possession of drug-related objects and failure to dim high beams. He was placed into the Muscogee County Jail for a 2 p.m. Friday hearing in Columbus Recorder's Court.

Columbus police said they spotted a red Honda Accord with its high beams on around 9:35 p.m. Wednesday near Warm Springs Road and Hodges Drive. They pulled the driver over at the Circle K gas station at 5155 Warm Springs Road.

Officials said Antley, the driver, dropped a bag of .6 grams of heroin (street value of $60) outside of his vehicle.

During the traffic stop, authorities said they also found 10.8 grams of meth (street value of $1,080), $4,460 in cash, scales, baggies, pipes and a spoon in Antley's possession.
