Dog dies after being shot outside of Columbus home, police say
Columbus police are investigating the death of a dog that was shot Saturday night outside of a home in the 5000 block of Shirley Ann Drive.
Authorities were called to the residence around 10:54 p.m. Saturday to investigate after a woman reported that her dog was killed.
The woman told officers that she walked her pet outside to relieve itself and someone shot it, Sgt. Art Sheldon said. She identified an individual as the suspect, but officials have yet to issue any warrants in the case.
Sheldon said the incident remains under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
