Three children found walking alone in road in 40-degree weather, Columbus police say

A Columbus man was charged Monday morning after authorities found three children under the age of 5 walking on Corley Drive in 40-degree weather, authorities said.

Rodriquez Robinson, 40, faces a reckless conduct charge. He was placed into the Muscogee County Jail for a 9 a.m. Thursday hearing in Columbus Recorder's Court.

Columbus police were called to the intersection of Corley Drive and Atterbury Drive around 11:05 a.m. Monday to check on three unsupervised children, ages 4 and 1, in the roadway.

Some good samaritans found them dressed in pajamas with no shoes on. It was 40 degrees outside at the time, officials said.

Robinson was allegedly supposed to be watching the children, but left them unsupervised for about an hour.
