A 9-year-old girl died in a two-vehicle collision Friday night.

The name of the child was not released.

According to a report from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, it was around 8:35 p.m. when a 2008 Honda Accord, in which the child was a passenger, collided with a 2007 Pontiac G6 which Alabama State Troopers say was traveling on the wrong side of the road.

The child was not wearing a seat belt.

Jemellia Webb, 41, was driving the Honda. Matthew McGhee, 30, was driving the Pontiac.

Both drivers, from Montgomery County where the crash occurred, were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

The crash occurred on Marler Road near U.S. 80 in the Waugh Community.

There was no news about charges. The case is under investigation.
