Teen injured in Phenix City shooting

A 17-year-old reported being shot by a 15-year-old Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Knowles Road and Summerwind Drive, authorities said.

The victim was transported to Columbus Midtown Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Phenix City police were called to the intersection of Knowles Road and Summerwind Drive around 3:52 p.m. Sunday to investigate a shooting. They found the 17-year-old lying on the ground with a gunshot wound in the right arm.

Lt. Darrell Lassiter said the victim identified the shooter as a 15-year-old.

The incident remains under investigation.
