15-year-old charged with attempted murder in Phenix City shooting
A 15-year-old was charged with attempted murder in Sunday afternoon’s shooting near Summerwind Drive, according to Phenix City police.
He turned himself into authorities early Monday. He was transported to the Lee County Youth Detention Center, where he will be held until he appears in Juvenile Court.
Authorities were called to the intersection of Knowles Road and Summerwind Drive around 3:52 p.m. Sunday to investigate a shooting. They found the 17-year-old lying on the ground with a gunshot wound in the right arm.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Columbus Midtown Medical Center.
