Investigators make 2nd arrest in rape, sodomy of 12-year-old boy

Investigators with the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a 2nd suspect in a child rape case.

Arrested in Atlanta without incident on Monday was 38-year-old Kelvin Armstrong of Atlanta.

Warrants had been issued on Jan. 30 for Armstrong on the charges of aggravated assault child molestation, aggravated sodomy, and cruelty to children.

According to an official report, Armstrong is accused of having participated in the taking of a minor child in a Brookhaven, Ga. apartment complex on Buford Highway and raping and sodomizing the child over a period of several hours.

He was allegedly joined by by 46-year-old Kevin Walker who was arrested by the Brookhaven police.

According to Brookhaven police, it was shortly after 1 p.m. on Jan. 29 that police responded to the apartment complex in reference to a sexual assault involving a child.

Detectives believe the boy was approached from behind, grabbed, and dragged into a nearby apartment. Detectives believe that once inside, the child was held against his will and raped.

Walker faces several charges including aggravated sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, kidnapping, possession of methsamphetamine and cruelty to children.

Officials say one of the suspects is HIV-positive.
