Suspect shot at man after fight at Columbus hotel

A man fired shots at a man late Sunday after a dispute at the La Quinta Inn on Warm Springs Road, according to Columbus police.

Anthony Ellis, 28, face one count each of aggravated assault and second-degree damage to property. He was booked into the Muscogee County Jail.

Authorities were called to the La Quinta Inn & Suites at 2919 Warm Springs Road around 12 a.m. Monday to investigate a domestic dispute.

Sgt. Art Sheldon said Ellis was arguing with another man before he pulled out a pistol and fired shots at him. No one was injured during the incident, but some bullets struck the business.
