Columbus woman charged with prostitution after traffic stop
A Columbus woman was arrested on a prostitution charge Tuesday morning after a traffic stop near University Avenue, authorities said.
Amanda Coe, 35, faces one count each of prostitution, giving false info, failure to exhibit a driver's license and no state tag. She was booked into the Muscogee County Jail for a 2 p.m. Wednesday hearing in Recorder's Court.
A Columbus police officer conducted a traffic stop around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday on a 1998 Toyota Camry with suspended registration.
Coe, who was identified as the driver, allegedly had sex with the passenger for $90. She was also accused of giving the wrong personal information during the stop and not showing the officer her driver's license.
No further details concerning the incident were given.
