Suspect charged with shooting man at corner store
Three weeks after a man was injured in a January shooting outside of a corner store near Forrest Road, the 37-year-old accused of the incident has been arrested.
Cornelius Brown was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with aggravated assault. He was booked into the Muscogee County Jail for a 2 p.m. Wednesday hearing in Columbus Recorder's Court.
Columbus police were called to St. Francis Hospital around 1:52 a.m. Jan. 27 to speak with a victim who reported being shot in a corner store parking lot near Morris and Forrest roads.
He said the incident occurred between 10 p.m. Jan. 26 and 1:30 a.m. Jan. 27. Officials have yet to release more details.
