A Columbus man and woman face possession of meth and other charges after police seized more than $2,000 worth of drugs Friday on Manchester Expressway and St. Francis Avenue, police said.
Jillian Campbell, 28, and James W. Cormier, 47, were charged with possession of $1,970 in methamphetamine and other drugs. Each faces one count of possession of heroin, possession of meth, possession of Xanax and drug related objects. Both are held in the Muscogee County Jail for an 8 a.m. Thursday hearing in Recorder’s Court.
Police said said a gray 2016 Ford Fusion driven by Cormier was stopped at 1:12 a.m. Friday on Manchester Expressway. In the vehicle, officers seized 19.7 grams of meth valued at $1,970, 14 Xanax pills worth $210 and a small amont of heroin valued at $33. The total drugs were valued at $2,213.
Police also found several drug related objects. They included a digital scale, needles, glass pipe and spoons.
Cormier also faces an additional charge for having no state tag.
