A 20-year-old man faces an aggravated assault charge in an August shooting at the Circle K on Forrest Road, Columbus police said Tuesday.

Alonzo Hightower of Columbus also is charged with criminal damage to property second degree in the Aug. 29 shooting at 5448 Forrest Road. Hightower was taken into custody on Watkins Drive and held in the Muscogee County Jail for a 9 a.m. Wednesday hearing in Recorder’s Court.

Police were called to the convenience store about 12:20 a.m. Aug. 29 to check on a gunshot victim. At the scene police found one of four victims shot.

Hightower was picked up by Columbus police on outstanding warrants.
