Two men shot dead outside Phenix City apartment, police say

Two men were shot dead Tuesday at apartments in Phenix City, where police are questioning two others who were at the scene, authorities said.

Police said they were called at 5 p.m. to 1718 Knowles Road, off U.S. 431 just south of the 280 Bypass.

“Upon arrival officers discovered two unidentified male subjects deceased, both had been shot, one on the porch and one in the parking lot of the small brick apartments located at this address,” police said in a news release.

One of the two men police questioned at the scene was wounded and sent to the hospital, though his wound was not life-threatening, investigators said.

Police did not immediately identify any of those involved.
