Here’s a list of 2020 Russell County homicides, according to the coroner

Here is a list of Russell County, Alabama homicides for the year 2020.

1) Jan. 6: Tyrese Nelson, 20.

Nelson was shot multiple times in what authorities reported to be an exchange of gunfire reported about 8:20 p.m. at a Riverwalk parking lot near First Avenue and 19th Street. He died later at Piedmont Columbus Regional, where a second person wounded in the shooting was hospitalized. Neighbors who live near the five-space Riverwalk parking lot complained of problems with car break-ins and of hearing gunfire in the area.
