Police searching for man with ‘Mad Max’ haircut after Columbus fatal shooting

Police investigating Columbus’ sixth homicide of 2020 say they’re looking for a gunman with a “Mad Max-type haircut.”

That’s how witnesses described the man who fatally shot Allen Djuan McMillan around 8:45 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of 38th Street.

McMillan was rushed to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where he was pronounced dead at 9:48 p.m., exactly an hour after police were called to the shooting.

McMillan was 42 years old, said Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

Detectives said witnesses described the shooter as a man of medium build, 5-foot-8, between 18 and 30 years old, with a “Mad Max” hairstyle that was cut short on the sides with twists on the top.

Investigators said the twists of hair stuck up like a brush.

The gunman fled in a silver or gray four-door sedan, police said.

Anyone with information on a suspect is asked to contact Sgt. Jeff Kraus at 706-225-4374 or DKraus@columbusga.org.
