Have you seen it? Columbus police looking for car possibly involved in hit and run

Columbus police are looking for a vehicle believed to have been involved in a hit and run incident early last week.

According to Corporal Brittney Siter of the Columbus Police Department, a blue-green 1994 vehicle struck another parked vehicle at the West Georgia Optical Center on Feb. 18.

In the initial press release, police were looking for a 1994 Geo Prizm, but according to Siter, the car could be a different model entirely.

“The tag is coming back to a Geo, but it appears to be a Mazda,” Siter told the Ledger-Enquirer over email.

The vehicle has a Georgia tag of BJN4975, but hasn’t been registered in several years, according to a press release. The car will have damage to the passenger side door as a result of the accident, police said.

Police are asking anybody with information on the car’s whereabouts to contact Siter at 706-225-4042.
