Tuesday night shooting in Phenix City leaves one man dead, police say
A man is dead from multiple gunshot wounds following a Tuesday night shooting in Phenix City, police said.
According to a press release from the Phenix City Police Department, Terence Hayes, 35, was pronounced dead by Piedmont Columbus Regional staff members at 11:34 p.m. Tuesday.
Phenix City police were called to the area of 10th Avenue South and Fontaine Road in reference to a shooting at 9:25 p.m. Upon arrival they found Hayes suffering from numerous gunshot wounds.
Officials did not provide further details about the incident. The body will be taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy.
