Columbus police looking for jail inmate that escaped custody early Tuesday morning

The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office is looking for an inmate that escaped from custody early Tuesday morning, according to an email from Major Joe McCrea.

Wilson Treiber, 29, was being housed in the stockade when he escaped custody around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Treiber was being held in custody for one count of reckless conduct, one count of possession of a schedule two controlled substance and one count of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.

Anyone with information on his location is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 706-653-4225.
