Man found shot dead in midtown marks Columbus’ 28th homicide of 2020, coroner says

A man shot twice Thursday night was found dead on the street near the Lakebottom area of midtown Columbus, authorities said.

Police responding to reports of an unknown man “down and unconscious” were called at 11:21 p.m. to Fairway Avenue and Anne Street, where they found 27-year-old Terrence Seldon dead, they said in a news release.

The intersection is about a block south of the Country Club of Columbus, in the neighborhood sandwiched between Cherokee Avenue and Hilton Avenue.

Deputy Coroner Elizabeth Allison pronounced Seldon dead there at midnight, investigators said.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Sgt. Donna Baker at 706-225-4296 or dbaker@columbusga.org.

Seldon’s death marks Columbus’ 28th homicide so far this year, said Coroner Buddy Bryan.
