‘Multiple digital devices’ taken during GBI search of home in Averett Woods neighborhood
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit searched a home Thursday in Columbus’ Averett Woods neighborhood off Hilton Avenue.
Responding to press inquiries about the raid at 2622 Carson Drive, the agency said it served a search warrant there with the assistance of Columbus police.
“Multiple digital devices were seized pursuant to the search warrant,” the GBI wrote in a statement. “Those devices will be processed by GBI digital forensic investigators. The investigation is ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.”
Multiple unmarked law enforcement vehicles were parked outside the house Thursday morning, prompting media inquiries about the nature of the investigation that drew neighbors’ attention.
Averett Woods is between Hilton Avenue and Auburn Avenue, near the Country Club of Columbus.
