A late night shooting in Columbus leaves a 30-year-old man dead

A 30-year old man was shot to death in Columbus just before midnight Friday and police are looking for help in solving the case.

Columbus police received a 911 call around 11:15 p.m. from the 4800 block of Toney Drive, according to a police press release. Officers found Lukas Boykin, 30, dead of a gunshot wound.

Deputy Coroner Charles Newton pronounced Boykin dead at 12:05 a.m. Saturday.

The Columbus Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.
