Suspect arrested in murder of Kamarie Holland to face more charges, officials say

Jeremy Williams, charged with kidnapping and murder in the death of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland, will appear before court Wednesday to face additional charges in the case.

Williams is charged with capital murder in the course of kidnapping, rape and sodomy, according to a news release from the Russell County Sheriff’s Office. He also is charged with abuse of a corpse and producing child pornography.

He is set to appear before Judge David Johnson at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators captured Williams on Dec. 13 at the Bamboo Hotel on Opelika Road. Kamarie’s body had been found at vacant residence of Williams’, with signs of asphyxiation and possible sexual abuse, Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor said in a Dec. 14 news conference.

Williams appeared in court that day where Johnson ruled that no bond would be set. Johnson also issued a gag order that prohibits Russell County authorities from making any “extrajudicial statements” related to the case.

Kristy Hoskins, Kamarie’s mother, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Columbus on Dec. 28 and charged with sex trafficking along with three counts of felony murder based on rape, sodomy and first-degree kidnapping.
