Suspect surrenders to Columbus Police Department, faces murder charge

A suspect has been arrested in the murder of Markayla Marshall, 17, killed on March 31 at Primus King Park in Columbus, according to a press release from local police.

Two other gunshot victims were transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital along with Marshall for non-life-threatening injuries.

Ceonna Turpin faces one charge of murder and two charges of aggravated assault after surrendering herself at Columbus Police Headquarters on Monday.

Turpin will be in Recorder’s Cout at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
