A 39-year-old man died after being shot in Phenix City Friday night, according to police.
Police arrived at Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital at 7:45 p.m., where they located Edward Pettway, 39, of Montgomery, who had been shot multiple times. Pettway was able to give officers limited information regarding the shooting before he died, police said in a news release.
The shooting occurred between 7:15 and 7:35 p.m. near the Piggly Wiggly grocery store on 13th Street, police said.
Anyone who heard shots fired or saw a gray 2015 Hyundai Genesis that belonged to Pettway is asked to contact Lt. Rob Isabel at (334) 448-2825 or Inv. James Belin (334) 448-2819.
