19-year-old killed in Columbus car chase and shooting Monday night. Here’s what we know

A 19-year-old woman was shot and killed in Columbus Monday night, Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan told the Ledger-Enquirer.

Deputy Coroner Dustin Harrelson pronounced Neveah Nevels dead from multiple gunshot wounds at the scene on Buena Vista Road at about 11:47 p.m., according to a news release from the Columbus Police Department.

Two women were struck by gunfire, the release said, and first responders were unable to revive Nevels when they arrived to the scene around 10:54 p.m. The second victim was taken to Piedmont Hospital and is in critical condition, the release said.
