One dead following shooting on Old Buena Vista Road in Columbus Wednesday, coroner says.

One man is dead following a shooting that occurred Wednesday in 400 block of Old Buena Vista Road in Columbus, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

Columbus Police identified the victim, 23-year-old Derek Bowden Jr. Bryan said he was pronounced dead at 5:40 p.m., Wednesday.

An autopsy will be performed, according to Bryan. CPD said the case is under investigation.
