Valley murder suspect caught in Columbus, police say

A murder suspect in a months-old homicide in Alabama has been arrested in Columbus, according to police.

Police in Valley say 59-year-old Lenzy Felix Mayhand is a suspect in the Dec. 4 murder of Dalton Alexander Stringfellow that occurred on County Road 196 in Valley.

Mayhand was arrested by the Columbus Police Department on April 26, according to officials.

Valley police say he was extradited on April 28 to Chambers County in Alabama. He is currently being held at the Chambers County Detention Facility where he is awaiting a bond hearing, according to the release.

Valley is approximately 30 miles north of Columbus.
