Victim ID’d in shooting and car crash in Benner Avenue/ Hood Street area in Columbus

One person is dead after a shooting and car crash in the area of Benner Avenue and Hood Street in Columbus Wednesday, police said.
Police say they responded to the incident around 1:47 p.m. Wednesday and that it is unclear whether the victim died from the shooting or the crash at this time. Responding officers found an overturned vehicle with a male inside, according to police.
The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Maurice Burton who was pronounced dead at 2:28 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.
