A 26-year-old man killed in fatal shooting on Oates Avenue in Columbus, authorities say

A man is dead after a fatal shooting Sunday in the 4000 block of Oates Avenue, according to the Columbus Police Department’s Twitter page.
The victim has been identified as Mardarrius Collier, 26, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.
Bryan said Collier was pronounced dead at 3:21 p.m., Sunday at a local hospital.
Bryan said an autopsy will be performed.
This is at least the 37th homicide to occur in Columbus this year, according to a list compiled by the Ledger-Enquirer.
