Child, 4, killed in shooting at south Columbus apartment complex that injured woman

A 4-year-old is dead after a shooting Monday at Liberty Commons Apartments in the 3300 block of North Lumpkin Road, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

Bryan identified the victim as Jacques Walker Jr.

Bryan said the child was pronounced dead at the scene around 8:50 a.m.

Columbus police are reporting that one other person was injured in the shooting.

A police department spokesperson told the Ledger-Enquirer a woman is currently in critical condition due to the incident.

No arrest has been made.
