Fatal weekend shooting near Fort Benning Road in Columbus leaves one dead, officials say

One man is dead following a shooting Saturday near Fort Benning Road in Columbus, according to officials.
The victim, Joseph Antonio Lopez Rodriguez, 23, was pronounced dead at 2:55 p.m. Saturday, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.
The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the incident, according to a CPD social media post.
