A Columbus teenager suffered multiple gunshots. He is the second homicide victim in 2024

One teenager is dead following a shooting in the 5500 block of Glenview Drive, according to Columbus Police.
The shooting may have occurred overnight but the body was discovered after 8:30 a.m.,Thursday, according to police.
The victim has been identified as Derrick Jackson, 18, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.
Bryan said Jackson was pronounced dead at 9:20 a.m., Thursday, after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators are on the scene gathering information, according to the Columbus police department’s X page.
This is the second homicide in Columbus in 2024, according to a list compiled by the Ledger-Enquirer.
