Teenager suffers multiple gunshot wounds in weekend slaying in Columbus, coroner says

A teenager is dead following a weekend shooting in Columbus, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

Police responded at 4 a.m., Sunday, to the 5400 block of Whittlesey Boulevard concerning shots fired and found a dead male at the scene upon arrival, according to a news release.

Police identified the victim as Dennie Henderson, 16, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Henderson had multiple gunshot wounds, according to Bryan.

Bryan said an autopsy will be performed.
