Updated: Phenix City police find missing 13-year-old, father is in custody.

Phenix City police have found a missing 13-year-old after alerting the public Wednesday that the teenager was missing and could be in danger.

Police said they were searching for Aniyah Faith Washington. Washington was reported missing to the police department Wednesday morning.

“Aniyah was last seen with her non-custodial father Eric Simpson,” police said before Washington was located. “ ... Phenix City Police has reason to believe the juvenile could be in danger.”

Simpson was taken into police custody, according to the police department.

Police said Washington was found in Phenix City, and thanked the public for helping with the case.
