Colgay Pride president arrested for drug possession and weapon charges in Columbus
The president of Colgay Pride was arrested Wednesday morning on multiple drug charges after a months-long investigation, according to the Columbus Police Department.
According to Colgay Pride’s website, the group does “...advocate for pride, health, and equality for LGBT individuals and allies in Columbus and the surrounding Chattahoochee Valley area.”
Police said that Jeremy Hobbs, 49, was taken into custody and charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
• Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
• Possession of VGCSA Schedule I Drug with Intent to Distribute
• Possession of Drug-Related Objects
• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
Police said a search warrant was executed Wednesday morning at a residence in the 4200 block of 16th Ave. leading to the seizure of 5.4 grams of crack cocaine, 20.7 grams of methamphetamine, 23.8 grams of liquid GHB and an .38 revolver.
Hobbs is expected to appear in Recorder’s Court Thursday at 9 a.m., according to police.
