Phenix City police probe shooting at Sumbry Hill

Phenix City police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting at Sumbry Hill Apartments.

According to reports, an argument between a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old man led to the younger man pulling a gun and shooting both the older teen and a 20-year-old woman in the apartment parking lot.

Officers were called to the 25th Avenue apartments at 10:52 p.m. By then, the two shooting victims had been taken to The Medical Center in Columbus.

Capt. Frank Ivey said neither victim had life-threatening wounds.

The shooting suspect ran from the area before police arrived.

The suspect is a black man, 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, Ivey said.
