Two girls allegedly contacted through an online social networking site and paid for sexual acts pleaded guilty on Tuesday to prostitution, authorities said.
The high school students, linked by Columbus police to John Przenkop, who faces charges of aggravated child molestation, are Russell County residents. They pleaded guilty before Juvenile Court Judge Aaron Cohn, though they’ll be sentenced by a Russell County Juvenile Court judge, said Senior Assistant District Attorney Wayne Jernigan.
“It’s unique to the juvenile system,” Jernigan said of the sentencing procedures. “It happens between Columbus and Phenix City all the time.”
Przenkop, 43, is accused of soliciting and performing “immoral and indecent acts” with two children under 16, police reports state. He allegedly became acquainted with the girls on the Web site MySpace, where one of the girls listed her age as 18 and the other as 100, according to Columbus Recorder’s Court testimony.
In court, police said there is a video of Przenkop having sex with the girls.
Przenkop was arrested March 12. He’s charged with two counts each of aggravated child molestation, sexual exploitation of a child, enticing a child for indecent purposes and pandering. He’s pleaded not guilty.
The mothers of the teenage girls were arrested in Recorder’s Court March 15 — the date initially scheduled for Przenkop’s court hearing. The Phenix City women, ages 33 and 35, are accused of trying to extort money from Przenkop — $2,000 in one case and $5,000 in another — by threatening to tell police about Przenkop’s alleged incidents with the children.
In court, the women denied asking for the money. Both have pleaded not guilty.
