Columbus woman faces charges of terroristic threats, battery, trespass

A Columbus woman faces charges of making terroristic threats and committing battery with physical visible harm stemming from an altercation at an apartment complex on Winston Road.

Auctavia S. Morgan, 19, also faces charges of criminal trespass and being disorderly while intoxicated from the 2:15 a.m. Sunday incident, according to a Columbus Police Department report.

Morgan, who was still in the Muscogee County Jail as of noon Sunday, allegedly threatened to kill the 42-year-old male victim, then threw a metal barbecue grill lid at him, striking the man in the right side of the face and causing a small laceration, police said.

The terroristic threats charge is a felony, while the battery and trespass charges are misdemeanors. Disorderly while intoxicated is a violation of city ordinance.

Morgan’s Recorder's Court appearance is scheduled for 8 a.m. Monday, according to a Muscogee County Jail online log.
