Columbus police make shoplifting arrests at Peachtree Mall

Columbus police arrested two men Sunday on shoplifting charges in separate incidents at Peachtree Mall.

Around 3:40 p.m., police were called to the Dillard's store in reference to a theft. A Dillard's employee said she saw Justin Harrison take 15 shirts (total value $944.97), conceal them inside his backpack and leave the men's department, according to the police report. Mall security apprehended Harrison, 22, of Wakefield Way. He was charged with felony theft by shoplifting.

Around 9:45 p.m., police were called to the Macy's store in reference to a theft. A Macy's employee said he saw Scottie Dunlap take three pairs of blue jeans (total value $174) and conceal them in a bag from another store, according to the police report. Mall security apprehended Dunlap, 17, whose residence wasn't listed. He was charged with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting.

Both men no longer were in the Muscogee County Jail on Tuesday, a clerk in the administrative office said, but their bond amounts and court dates weren't released.
