A Columbus man was charged with manufacturing marijuana Friday after the drug was found in a bedroom of his Levy Road home, the marshal's office said.
Reginald Pitts, 37, faces one count each of manufacturing marijuana, possessing a controlled substance or marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park and cruelty to children. He is held in the Muscogee County Jail for a Monday hearing in Municipal Court.
Police entered the home about 11 a.m. and found a paper bag containing more than 2 ounces of suspected marijuana in a bedroom. The street value of the drug is estimated at $700.
This article was updated with a correction at 4:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25. The Muscogee County Marshal's Office made the arrest, and Reginald Pitts was to appear in Municipal Court on Monday.
