Police searching for suspect in 11th Avenue shooting

Police are searching for a 29-year-old man accused of injuring two people while confronting his ex-girlfriend on 11th Avenue, according to a Columbus police press release.

Joseph Blanding is wanted for three counts of aggravated assault after he accosted the victim, whom his shares children with, on the 1300 block Friday morning, according to the release. The victim told police Blanding took out a pistol during the argument and fired several shots at both her and her boyfriend.

The injuries sustained were not life threatening, police said.

Blanding is described as a 6-foot-3 black man. He was seen leaving the area in a beige 1999 Cadillac DeVille with an Alabama tag. The tag number is 696AD6.
