Man's neck lacerated during robbery near 39th Street

A 27-year-old man was given four stitches Thursday after he was robbed at knifepoint near the intersection of 39th Street and Fourth Avenue, according to a Columbus police report.

The victim initially told police a woman asked for him while he was at a party and led him to the side of the house, where four men approached him bearing different weapons. One used a knife to cut him near his hairline. The group is accused of taking $210 in cash, his wallet and debit cards.

Police dropped the case later after the victim gave inconsistent statements and requested a waiver a prosecution, according to the report. The victim was treated for his injuries at Midtown Medical Center. No further information was available.
