A bicyclist died Monday in Columbus after colliding with a vehicle.
Authorities are trying to identify the victim.
The name of the bicyclist isn’t known because he didn’t have any identification on him, Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan told the Ledger-Enquirer, but Bryan said the deceased is a “40-something” male with “a lot of tattoos.”
Police were called around 6 p.m. Monday about the incident on Manchester Expressway, westbound, near Miller Road. The bicyclist, who suffered injuries to his head and torso, was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where he was pronounced dead, Columbus Police Department public information officer Brittany Santiago told the Ledger-Enquirer.
The cause of the crash hasn’t been determined, Santiago said, but the case remained under investigation Tuesday. The vehicle’s driver stayed at the scene, she said, but the vehicle’s description isn’t being released because no criminal charges have been filed.
