Columbus man survives Tuesday shooting on Drake Street

A 56-year-old Columbus man was the surviving victim of a Tuesday shooting inside of his Drake Street home, according to the Columbus Police Department.

The victim has no injuries stemming from the offense, which occurred in the 3300 block of Drake Street at about 10:30 p.m.

Police believe that the suspect used a pistol to shoot at the victim and caused $400 worth of property damage.

No arrests have been made in connection to the incident, but the lone suspect was described as a 5-feet-7 tall black male estimated to weigh 170 pounds, police stated.

Reports show that the offender had shoulder-length dreads and was last seen wearing a black shirt with white letters, green cargo shorts and a black hat.

An officer was called to the 3300 block of Drake Street Tuesday at 11:25 p.m. to relieve officers who were already on the scene.

The case remains under investigation.
