Police arrested Wednesday a Columbus man accused of throwing a table at a 21-year-old Clark Atlanta University student's head while at a Columbus hotel, according to the Columbus Police Department.
The female victim, who was also punched in the face, is in good condition after being treated at the Midtown Medical Center's emergency room for a laceration to the forehead, reports show.
Karceen Jabar Barnes was arrested and charged with aggravated assault following the incident, which reportedly happened in a Holiday Inn hotel room in the 2800 block of Manchester Expressway between Wednesday at 12:55 a.m. and 1:10 a.m., police said in a report.
Barnes was under the influence of alcohol during the offense and knew of the victim prior to the incident, according to the report.
An officer was called the scene Tuesday at 1:15 a.m. in reference to an assault.
